Re: Fall trip. Need help to fix my routes

OK. Looking at the routes you have mapped out for the next two days, it doesn't make sense for me to send you to Noyes Pond/Seyon Lodge State Park in the morning. Go ahead and keep that on your route from New Hampshire. You will just have to fit it in. :-) I have only been there in the morning and i...

Re: Fall trip. Need help to fix my routes

You could hop off Rte 91 in Barnet and go to Hillside Acres Farm. That is best seen and photographed late afternoon. You will find the directions in the Ebook that you purchased. Andy has a gorgeous photo he shot there in the book. I went early day and was shooting into the sun and my pictures suffe...

Re: Fall trip. Need help to fix my routes

Hi Photo Guy, Because Franconia Notch is a priority for you, and you want to end up in Hardwick VT by the end of the day, you are going to be covering a lot of territory on day one: 9/28 Drive from Boston to Conway NH 9/29 Take Rte 112 West (which is the Kancamagus Highway) from Conway NH to Lincoln...

Re: Fall trip. Need help to fix my routes

I don't know anything about the Adirondacks. Have never been. If I map you out a route will it be your final decision??? I'm only asking because it will take me a while and you've been changing your mind so many times. If you trust me to do this than I will do it but you have to let me know and trus...

Sept 22. 23, and 24 PHOTO GALLERY

Just a quick and dirty edit on most of these photos from this weekend in NH and VT. Some images taken with my cell phone. http://carolsmith.zenfolio.com/p522905761 I am really pissed at the way zenfolio now takes you to the"store" to see the pictures. Especially if viewing on a cell phone....

Re: Fall trip. Need help to fix my routes

You have too much on your first day. In my opinion you won't get it all done. I'm on my cell now. Would you mind if I do a new route for you to help you out? I can do it in a little while when i get home. Private message me the most important places that you want to see. Prioritize. I will help you....

Re: Saturday Sept 23 and Sunday the 24th

You're welcome MM. Looking forward to hearing your report when you arrive in Killington. Hopefully by Monday the cold snap will have helped the colors along when you come up to visit the kingdom. Can't wait to get back up there!!!

Saturday Sept 23 and Sunday the 24th

Yesterday (Saturday) I left the house in Barton about 6:20 AM. Took Rte 16 to Glover. Stopped to photograph Clarks Pond on Rte 16. Beautiful morning reflections with a light coat of fog along the water. My lens was somehow on manual focus. I was shooting live view with camera on the tripod and didn'...

Sounds like a good plan Minnesota Man. I wish that colder air was going to be arriving before Thursday. But it is what it is. Have a good relaxing week.

Tim......I really like the looks of your early color hillside photo. I think those are really pretty early colors. Hopefully they will explode once we get some cooler temps!

Foliage Report Friday Sept 22

Left Southeast MA at 5:30 this morning. Traveled Rte 93 north to Exit 32 Lincoln NH exit. Traveled Rte 112 West from Woodstock NH through Kinsman Notch. colors still early but look hopeful in this area. Early colors are not bad. Took Rte 116 to Sugar Hill NH. Colors coming along really quite nicely ...

Re: So Mother Nature Has Thrown Us A Curve Ball...

I'm up in the NEK now as well. I think we need to keep in mind that it's only September 22nd. I'm not too disappointed with the color I saw today...... in most places......but I agree that there are areas of very muted dull gold and brown but I was happy that these areas are sporadic. St Johnsbury i...

Re: Foliage This Year - Some Observations and Comments

I agree Andy. Being flexible is the key. It's nice to have an itinerary planned, but you need to be flexible and may have to change up your plans depending on where the best color can be found. I also agree that Vermont is a unique and beautiful place and even if the foliage isn't the greatest, it's...
