Re: Why no action on this forum ?

So true about CT YANKEE. She would be starting her posts almost late Spring!

I live in CT. Recently moved from Woodbury to Haddam and go to VT every fall to a different B&B. I ALWAYS visit this forum as it is/was THE go-to for all things Fall in VT.

Fantastic color in Ludlow region this weekend!

My wife and I just returned to our home in Litchfield County, CT after staying at The Governor's Inn in Ludlow. The timing/weather was PEFECT! The foliage from CT to Ludlow was at peak, while the foliage in Ludlow was about a few days past, but nonetheless.....areas of explosive color abound. We vis...

Re: Overnight Color Explosion in Northern CT! Good Things Come to Those Who Wait!

We concluded our trip to Warren VT on Oct 17. The Warren Hill House where we stayed had unbelievable color even a week past peak, but everywhere else was muted with only isolated areas of peak color while on our way home through Southern Vermont. Last week, my Daughter and I hiked the Donkey Trail t...

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2021

I live in Woodbury, and much of RT 67 and RT 6 through Oxford is about 45% peak. I live on 35 acres of deep woods at the top of a very high elevation (it is often 3-5 degrees cooler at our home versus center of town), and the leaves are at about 5-10% turning as of today.

Re: color coming on slowly still in the north

Thanks for the update. Where is proximity is this to the Warren area? Hoping the slight delay will time nicely with our trip up there the weekend of 10/15 (although I realize all it takes are a few nights in the 50s for things to accelerate).

Re: State Foliage report no. 1 issued September 16th, 2021

Exciting update!

We’ll be staying in Warren this year, driving from Litchfield county, CT. Heading up there the weekend of October 15. Hoping to catch progressive color through Southern VT as we head to Warren where we hope it will be peak or just past peak.

Thanks for the 1st update!

Re: Swamp Maples Showing Bright Reds

How coincidental! I too recently bought a convertible Corvette! Definitely don’t plan to take it to Vermont as it’s essentially a ‘one day per month’ toy (LOL). And as for the dear….Oh Dear! We have a family of 5 that roams our property, and recently had a returning black bear roaming around our hom...

Re: Swamp Maples Showing Bright Reds

Hi Bob, I never heard of the Bethlehem Flea Market but will check it out. If it is the same time as the Chester Fall Festival in Vermont next weekend I may not be able to go. If you have a moment, can you give me some road numbers or street names for the drives thru Woodbury and Oxford? The NH guys...

Re: Swamp Maples Showing Bright Reds

Today, as I was leaving our home in Woodbury CT, I saw many leaves falling (!). Our yard appears to have more and more each day, although they are still green. Appears that the 'process' most definitely has begun! Last year, around September 18, I was at the Bethlehem CT Flea Market - you NEED to ex...

Re: Happy First Day of Meteorological Fall! 9/1/21

Holy cow! I kept checking the forum and haven't seen any activity (and there were periods where the site was returning errors), and I thought it went 'abandoned'! Just walked down my driveway in Woodbury, CT and it most definitely felt like, smelled like, and looked like Fall today! We live on over ...

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2020

Yes...I checked in on this with the B&B. While they are following all guidelines, my wife and I have recent negative COVID results after being tested recently. We were advised to bring them, and was informed that we shouldn't have any issues. We'll see!

Nice report, CT!

Hoping Brandon and Weston this coming weekend do not disappoint. We are staying at The Lilac Inn this weekend, and plan to make our ritual stop in Weston. We were in Woodstock and Queeche last weekend, and there was barley any color anywhere :(

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2020

Hi Loafer and nice to 'hear' from you again, CT! So, I just drove through Oxford and Southbury today. I must say that the colors - and I am not exaggerating - were at or very close to peak in many areas. I definitely think over the next few days with the rainy, cool weather, this area will peak. Two...

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2020

I live in Woodbury, and the weekend prior to this past weekend was INCREDIBLE in the Woodbury, Bethlehem, Southbury, Oxford areas. Although early, MANY trees were appearing as almost peak! Heading to Devil's Hopyard State Park and Chapman Falls this weekend, and venture to think there will be an abu...
