Re: Seeking Tunnel/Canopy locations

ctyanky: Indeed I have. I first learned of Cloudland Road on Jeff Foliage's Scenic Vermont Drive on Cloudland road : https://www.jeff-foliage.com/2016/02/scenic-vermont-drive/ At the time I just wanted a general scenic drive though, and it was great for that. Now that you mention it as a canopy cand...

Re: Haze

Thank you, Britchess and Andy. Andy: You are so right. I have good lenses and dislike the side effects of filters. I have a Hoya filter, but I am not sure if it's high end; I will check, but even if it is not, the difference, I fear, will be minimal. The photo above is taken with the right filter an...

Haze

Please take a look at this photo. haze.jpg It's just a sample and the location is unimportant. What matters here is that haze ruins an otherwise nice pic. Now, I am familiar with and make use of the dehaze tool of Lightroom, so I know this pic can be improved in post processing. My question, however...

Re: Peacham Peak?

Thank you, ctyanky. Looks like I will have to return. Since you are going there I'll mention a somewhat awkward situation the happened to me when walking across the field from the fire station to take the pic shown on the first post. I was very careful not to walk over any farmed land but neverthele...

Peacham Peak?

I was in Peacham on oct 10, 2018, and took the photo shown below. For my next fall adventure I want to be very selective and only visit places where I have missed peak. Would you Peacham experts please tell me if what I've seen is it? Do I move Peacham to the done column or go back for another try? ...

Re: Peak reports

ctyanky: forgot to mention... many, many years ago, when I was 25, I spent a full week in a kibbutz, at a time when visiting Israel was kind of silly. I'm not Jewish but, hey, when you are 25 everything is an adventure. It was one of the most defining moments of my life. After that, for a lark, I fl...

Re: Peak reports

Hi ctyanky,

We are going to visit Jerusalem, Judean Desert, Samaria, Jordan Valley, Beit Shean, Yardenit, Safed, Nazareth, Tabgha, Capernahum, Tiberias, Acre, Haifa, Jaffa, Tel Aviv, Massada and the Dead Sea.

Should be quite a trip.

Regards

Re: Peak reports

Ahh, far-reaching travels... OK, I'll bite. :) These are some of our destinations in the last 50 years! destinations.jpg This fall we will be in Spain, Egypt, Jordan and Israel, winter in UT and CO, spring in Australia, China and Japan, summer in WY, MT, Adirondacks and Appalachians... so that leave...

Re: Peak reports

Thank you, Andy, for the advice and warm welcome. I am a photography enthusiast, but I would not call myself a photographer. When I take photos I usually think "now, that's a great pic"; then, when by chance I see professional photos of the same or similar places in Flickr, I go back to my masterpie...

Re: Peak reports

Thank you all for the information. I will most definitely check this forum daily this fall, as a trial run for the real thing next year. So many places to see, in such a short period of time... this is why making the right choice is critical. Alas, my previous two trips have been great, but mostly t...

Re: Peak reports

Excellent information! Thank you very much!

Yes, I am interested but please,.. not if it means undue work on your part. You have pointed me in the right direction and that is really all one can ask and hope for. The rest, quite properly, is work I have to do.

Cheers

Peak reports

Where do you turn for peak status reports for specific locations? I don't mean predictions (I know every year is different), and I don't mean general area reports like "It's peak time now in Northeast Vermont". What I would like to know is where to turn for location reports for single locations, lik...
