Re: Why no action on this forum ?

I live just North of Hartford. In July we had 13" of rain. A record. So much rain. The Connecticut River went into flood. Something that only happens in Winter with snowmelt. I'm not sure what areas might have good Fall foliage color.

Re: Why no action on this forum ?

I was wondering about that also. I hope all this rain hasn't damaged the Maples too badly with fungus. Last year was pretty awful in Vermont and Massachusetts. Connecticut was okay in late October.

Re: Fall 2023

I'm hoping for a good foliage season this year. We've finally settled into seasonable Fall weather. It's been a very wet summer. Definitely no drought this year.

Southern Vermont 10-9-22

I just came home from a trip to Southern Vermont. I visited Brattleboro, Townsend, Magic Mountain, Bromley, Stratton, Bondsville and Mount Snow, Dover. Honestly not very good foliage color. Predominantly red and rust. Worse than last year. I think the hot and dry Summer stressed the trees. Above aro...

Re: First Day of Meteorological Fall Ushers in Cool, Crisp and Breezy Autumn Air to the Northeast! 9/1/22

Hopefully we get some rain. The drought is getting pretty bad . I visited my sister last week in Northeast Pennsylvania, foliage color change and leaf loss due to drought. Never saw that in August. Vermont will still have good color change I'm sure.

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2021

I haven't been out to look at foliage since last Friday. Big change in the Oaks and they are at peak. In town it's about 20-30 % bare.

Somers, Connecticut with a bit of Oak color.:

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2021

Kevin, we took a drive to Storrs UCONN campus for lunch yesterday and the color was really coming on strong especially in Tolland and Rockville. Heading west it got even better. So I am optimistic we are heading into a great but delayed season (maybe 10 days later than normal) here in CT. Get back ...

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2021

I was out yesterday and went to Granby, Hartland, Route 20 through Barkhamstead Reservoir, Winstead, Route 44 and Route 218 and 272. The higher elevations are well past peak and going bare. Very limited foliage color left. Here in town, areas that had foliage color are muted due to the warm weather....

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2021

Not much foliage color here in Enfield, much worse than last year. Way too much rain and very warm weather. The usual sports with Fall foliage color are brown/rust. There is some nice color, but it's in urban areas and hard to photograph. The cool weather is coming too late.

Re: Fall Foliage Report—Week 5 OCTOBER 14, 2021

Report #3 wasn't accurate, Southern Vermont was already at peak in the higher elevations. There was very little green foliage and even some bare trees.

Re: Best bets for peak fall foliage after Saturday’s rain.

Route 7 had peak foliage color from Bennington to Arlington yesterday, not sure how it is past that point. Higher elevations are done for the season. I'm not familiar with foliage in New Hampshire.

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2021

I just returned from a trip to Northwestern Connecticut. It's mixed with good foliage color along Route 20 before Barkhamstead Reservoir and then Route 44 to Route 8. After that it's going bare on the way to Colebrook and Canann at the higher elevations. Route 7 is still mostly green along the Housa...

Re: State of color

I just got back from Mount Equinox, unfortunately the sunny weather turned into solid overcast around Wilmington. Peak foliage color along Route 112 and Route 9 between the Junction with Route 112 and the Searsburg Reservoir. After that it's about 25% bare until Bennington, after which Route 7 is Pe...
