NEK foliage now moving past peak

The progression of the color has been very fast his year. Color in the NEK peaked on Wednesday and now it is past peak. A lot of the leaves have taken on that frizzled look. Still, Friday was a beautiful sunny day, nice and crisp and the colors came alive on the Clyde at Charleston. View here the pa...

Fall Foliage Report OCTOBER 4, 2018 With summer weather lingering into fall, parts of Vermont are still green but now with recent cooler air and showers, things are changing quite quickly. In fact, County Forester, Matt Langlais reports that much of Essex County and upper elevations in Caledonia Cou...

Update: October 1st. Much of northern and central Vermont is displaying color. Expect peak sometime towards the end of this week. If you drive east from Burlington through Stowe, or Jeffersonville and Johnson you will see good color. The only problem in the past two days has been poor light. It has ...

Re: Just Arrived in Bennington. Where should we head for Foilage thru Thurs?

I would stick to higher terrain. Did you read the State Foliage report? If you get to Rutand, go east towards Woodstock and Quechee, You will go through the Killington area which is higher altitude. Much of the state is still green. so head north. I was at the top of the Sugarbush ski area yesterday...

September 19th 2018 foliage aerial

The color seems to be developing quite fast in this one spot, near Lake Seymour and Morgan, in the Northeast Kingdom. Elsewhere it is still pretty much green

Fall Foliage Report SEPTEMBER 20, 2018 It’s almost always true that the pleasures of fall in Vermont are best enjoyed outside, and this is especially good advice for experiencing the headlining pleasure of fall in the Green Mountains. The best way to spot the burgeoning signs of foliage in our fores...

Re: It's 2018 and time to kickstart your Vermont fall foliage plans!

It is not the heat that can cause a problem but rather a lot of rain. There has not been much rain, so the colors should be good. Exactly when they will peak, no one ever knows, but I can tell you that some of the leaves have already started turning in northeastern VT. You drive along a road and all...

Possible foliage sites

This season I will be photographing 360 images of possible foliage sites. These may be places to have a picnic, go on a bike ride or anything that is connected with the foliage season. I have been tinkering around with a Go Pro Fusion camera. In my view, this is the best of the 360 cameras under $1,...

Re: NEK and Moose Alley NH

Our lodge was in Grafton last year, really nice place! All green in mid-October though last year, let's see this year :) Thanks again! The place outside Brattleboro that ctyanky is referring too is called Green River. Depending when you are there, the foliage color can be fantastic. And yes there a...
