Even colder this morning with frost coating the ground here in the Lyndonville area. Color is coming on quick, but hard to tell how good it will be this year as it is very dry.

Artist Bluff in NH. The ski slopes on the right are part of Cannon Mtn. Here is the trail info:

Re: Fall Foliage and Vermont Life Magazine

I had always loved Vermont Life for its pictorials of Vermont. In my mid-30's when I started getting more serious about my photography, getting published in the Fall issue was a goal of mine. That goal was realized in the Fall 2016 issue with a page 2-3 spread from a hilltop in Lyndon. Sadly that is...

Re: Two Often Overlooked VT Roads with Incredible Beauty!

Agreed. There are so many great roads to check out the foliage in Vermont. But I think everyone should just stay in the conga-line of traffic on Route 100. That is really the only road that anyone should drive on in Vermont during foliage season.   <insert thick sarcasm emoji here>

Re: Updates from the Central NEK 2019

Update Thursday 10/03/2019: The NEK (northeastern Vermont) is still going strong. I got a bit carried away in the hills of Sheffield, Wheelock, and Sutton today (close to 700 photos that are going to take me weeks to go through). Class 4 roads can lead to some great spots! I managed to find some ext...

Re: The Kanc or Route 114??

Route 114 looked great today. Hopefully the foliage withstood tonight's heavy rain.

Re: Updates from the Central NEK 2019

Update: 9/30/19 If you're not here, get here soon. The foliage is peaking right now. However, with the upcoming forecast full of rain, I don't think the current leaves will hang on long enough for it all to come together as it has the past couple of years. The birches are still mostly green which me...

Re: Updates from the Central NEK 2019

FOLIAGE REPORT Thursday 9/26/19: The NEK is coming into peak form. There is still green out there. Many birches have yet to change. By this weekend and next week, anyone coming to the area should have a GREAT show. Here are some photos. The first 3 are Lyndonville area from yesterday evening. https:...

Re: Updates from the Central NEK 2019

UPDATE, Monday 9/23/19: Well thinks have certainly progressed quickly here in the NEK. Last weeks frost really spurred on the color change and we are approaching peak conditions. This coming weekend should be great. Perfect for the East Burke Fall Foliage Festival. Here are some photos from Lyndonvi...

Tim: where is the trailhead for Wheeler Mtn. I've been on that road. Can't remember a sign for the hike?
It is about 1 mile past Wheeler Pond on the left side of the road. Look for it after you pass the two houses that are on the right.

Updates from the Central NEK 2019

I'll be posting updated conditions in this thread for my home area here in the Lyndon area. So far foliage is progressing nicely. There are some individual poppers right now. However, with the latest hard frost things should start really get going. Photo Update for 9/19/19 (taken this morning as the...

Re: Foliage color appears on schedule in the north

I took a drive around the middle of the NEK this morning to see how things are progressing. Color is still early but it is certainly looking promising. There are the typical individual firecracker trees sprinkled around that make you go  . The highland lakes and ponds are still early as well....
