Re: HELP! We are here...color is not

Yes...you need to go to valley areas in the western part of VT. Basically draw a line between Burlington and Rutland go west of there. Route 30 between Castleton and Middlebury is a good bet. If you want to get off the main roads Moscow Road/Black Pond Road in Castleton & Hubbardton is a nice dr...

Not too much leaf drop in the Champlain Valley. Colors are coming along here now.

Re: Stowe & Waitsfield 10/10

Colors are starting to get good in the Champlain Valley/Route 7 corridor. From Rochester, pop over Rochester Gap (Route 73). Take Route 53 along Lake Dunmore. Explore the back roads of Weybridge, Cornwall, Sailsbury, East Middlebury, Bristol, Starksboro, Lincoln, Hinesburg, New Haven, Ferrisburgh, M...

I know it stinks to have rain on vacation...but we do need it. In a drought up here. Some people in my town have had their wells dry up!

Ripton-Lincoln-Starksboro 9/28/18

Well....still early. Still lots of green. Up in the higher elevations of Lincoln early color is starting to come along. The western slopes of the mountains are just about mid-stage I'd say. I'd give this area another 7-10 days. Route I took was (south to north) North Branch Road to Lincoln-Ripton Ro...

Take Route 9 east up to Woodford/Searsburg. You may find some early color there.

Re: Traveling to Burlington the second week in October to shoot photos/drone video anyone want to shoot leaves?

Rental car is going to be your best bet. Uber is available in Burlington but you may not be able to find a ride far out of town. I bet you could get an Uber to Mt. Philo State Park though. If you went there closer to end of your trip you may find some good color. For the beginning part of your trip ...

It is no longer the Bristol Bakery & Cafe. They sold the Bristol location and now their only location is in Hinesburg. The cafe is now called the Bristol Cliffs Cafe.

Re: New England trip for my friends with a toddler

Missed the small town part. Shelburne or Middlebury. In Middlebury, the child may like seeing the horses at the Morgan Horse Farm. Good toddler friendly hiking up in Ripton at the Robert Frost Trail. Also the Lake Pleiad trial.

Re: New England trip for my friends with a toddler

The Champlain Valley usually has some color at that time. Lots and lots of fun stuff to do with kids.
Stay in Shelburne, Burlington, South Burlington or Williston.
Shelburne Farms is amazing. Hiking at Mount Philo State Park. Echo on the Burlington waterfront. Church Street in Burlington is fun.

Re: Fall trip Planning and best bets

I second the book mmvt linked to above. From Warren you can take the Lincoln Gap Road over to Lincoln (VT). Gorgeous scenery. One of my favorites in Vermont. Go to the corner of Browns Road and West Hill for an amazing easterly view. Great photo location. Take the Lincoln Road down to Route 116. Bar...

Re: Where is best after this Tuesday?

Colors in my neck of the woods really started overnight last night. I remarked that it actually looks like fall this morning! If you are coming over the next 7 days or so try valley areas...My area should be good. South of Burlington and west of Route 116 to Lake Champlain. Silver Street-Monkton/Bri...
