Re: Question about property access

Good Morning everyone! In doing some reconnaissance online, i've been looking at some vermont photos and then trying to figure out where people were standing when they took them. I found several nice pics of Peacham, but noticed that they all appeared to be taken in a field on private property. For...

Re: Fall trip Planning and best bets

Couple of questions, 1. Does anybody know location of this photo? https://500px.com/photo/214625401/wonderland-by-tony-shi 2. Also, What are the best locations for early morning photos in Manchester, Lincoln and Warren? That image is Chittenden Reservoir taken from the parking area adjacent to Leff...

Re: Early Signs of Fall..........

Hi Texas: I'm sure you are in your final countdown, days now! Our trees here in northern CT are turning now as you round the bend at every corner. Yes! i can't wait! Any early guess on what the Woodstock-Cavendish area might look like Columbus day weekend? We should be able to drive 1.5 hrs north o...

Re: Fall trip Planning and best bets

Thanks a lot everyone. All great inputs. I am compiling my plan with all these inputs. Question - Route 100 seems to be very famous. Is there a not to miss section of the Hwy which I must include in my itinerary? For those who are interested in photography, here is the link/URL to my photos, https:...

Re: New England trip for my friends with a toddler

Colors in that time frame (October 18 -21) are probably gone in almost all of VT (known as "stick season"). the one exception that seems to turn late is the "route 7 corridor" from Rutland north to Burlington. BM might have some specific ideas about small towns in that area that ...

Re: Fall trip Planning and best bets

Thanks a lot CT. ..... We are not much into hiking but a lot into photography - serious photography :) So, if some one can give some 'not-to-miss' secret location for fall colors that would be great. So, I have 7-8th at Manchester, 8-9th at Warren and 9th-11th at White Mountains. Now, need to plan ...

Re: It's 2018 and time to kickstart your Vermont fall foliage plans!

Howdy everyone! I’m new to the forum. Our family will be making our first trip to Vermont this fall! We have family that moved to central Vermont a couple of years ago, and we will be staying with them for Columbus Day weekend. I am an ecologist by trade, and an amateur photographer. I’m looking fo...

Re: It's 2018 and time to kickstart your Vermont fall foliage plans!

...... our main objective is to experience the autumn and, above all, to live the authentic world of villages, but above all my wife also loves lighthouses and we would like to see some of them beauty and with history. Re: Killington Colors

thanks Minnesota! The pond is so close to the place we rent so it's nice to capture it several times over the course of our time here. Here are a few more from this week including my first attempt at drone photography https://photos.smugmug.com/VT-2017/i-rPsbw84/0/d2a0b636/L/6Q2A3119-L.jpg https://p...

Re: The Color is here!

Color continues to impress in Killington and beyond. It's a bit difficult to post photos here so am posting most of my things on FB but the colors have truly exploded and continue to get deeper and richer every day!! Lots of awesomeness all over VT. This weekend should be beautiful even with overcas...

The Color is here!

Some color from 10/4 and 10/5! Things in the Killington region look good right now and colors exploded here overnight. Also was in Peacham last night and I think the colors there are going to be nice....was almost dark when we got there so didn't get a complete look at things, but the pond at moonli...

Killington Colors

We arrived to Killington last evening and many of the hillsides here are mostly green with some early hints of color. It seems that some trees changed a couple of weeks ago but i think there is still plenty of foliage to come. The weather right now is more "typical" - cool/cold nights and ...

thanks for the great report Carol! We head up on Thursday and we're looking forward to seeing you very soon :-) Between your area and Killington we WILL find awesome color...and, as you mention, VT is beautiful regardless. I will be interested to see what colder weather does and am looking forward t...

Re: New England trip. Seeking suggestion

I think either Killington or St. Johnsbury are fine for a base. I would skip Stowe as I find it WAY to crowded in the Fall and hate sitting in traffic when there is so much of VT to see and experience. I agree with NEK - don't try to see everything... pick a spot and explore from that area. There is...
