Re: SouthWest VT 10/15-17 report and slideshow

Nice job once again Mark! You captured quite a lot of pastoral scenes and many lovely barns (getting used to your style!). There was a nice cluster of red barns early in the slideshow. Where was this taken? It sounds like you had a really relaxing time and am glad you were able to enjoy your piece o...

Re: Visitor from California - help needed to time foliage viewing for Southern VT

Prabal: NW CT is usually ahead of NE CT, however, I agree with the person you spoke with in Litchfield. We are still about 3-4 days from peak depending on the temperature dips and based on my travels into central CT today. This morning, a photographer at my stables said he was on route 183 near the ...

Ed: next year (after seeing your photos) I am definitely climbing Nichols Ledge. You compared the view to Owls Head and determined it was more dramatic and you liked it better. Less obstructive views?

Did you go back to Quabbin? Update? CT

Happy Fall to you Bob! Thanks for popping in here. If you are able, let me know how the colors develop in the Woodbury area. We are just starting to see really nice colors in northern CT but still appears to be a green scene! CT

bid: you did a nice job on these four photos. My favorite of "your" favorites, is the horse shot of course. :) I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your photography once you have it processed and uploaded. Thank you for posting these! CT

hi triz! Excellent report and I loved your Notch Road shot. I am very glad you were able to take a couple of my recommendations for the Publyk House and Bridge of Flowers. Did you eat at the Blue Benn Diner for breakfast in Bennington? Great place! I agree with you that the views from Mt. Greylock a...

Re: The Quabbin Reservoir Today with Ed McGuirk! Thank you Ed! Massachusetts' True Gem!

Ed: thanks for the data on the eminent domain. It really made me sad that this happened to the folks living in the towns that were flooded over for the creation of the reservoir. I love these photos of your sunrise, now seeing that we were standing in the exact spot where you took them. Getting ther...

The Quabbin Reservoir Today with Ed McGuirk! Thank you Ed! Massachusetts' True Gem!

Hello! Today I spent tooling around the incredible Quabbin Reservoir with our very own very talented photographer Ed McGuirk. I've never been to this scenic and enormous body of water in north central Massachusetts and it did not disappoint! Ed is an excellent tour guide and his knowledge of the his...

Re: Hey Vermont foliage...time to up your game!!

Karma! I actually laughed when I saw your comment about "ctyankee". This is the third year I have been quoted from the forum into the online Burlington Free Press on the foliage and they always spell it that way. Nonetheless, thank you for the kind words! :D It just didn't surprise me, the...

Re: North Central Massachusetts & CRV 10-14-18

loafer and triz: route 112 into VT from 2 is my favorite way to get into Vermont. Such a lovely countryside with nice color along the road with a great bunch of farms and farm stands. Every time I think I am going to take a different route into Vermont, I always end up on 112 and never regret my cho...

Re: Northwest Corner of Connecticut's hill towns foliage update 10/13

loafer, thanks for the update. It was so cold this morning but not a frost around central CT. Honestly, I didn't see a change in the foliage yet during my full day drive today. Probably this weekend will be the best all around, worth waiting for since we have a couple of weeks to chase the color her...

snookman, I'm so happy for you that this forum was helpful for your family's Vermont foliage vacation! Just by reading this post, I can tell you had a wonderful time with the kiddos playing in the snow and seeing excellent foliage. Glad you were able to do the gondola ride too. I hope you all come b...

Re: Northwest Corner of Connecticut's hill towns foliage update 10/13

triz: you will need a truck or four wheel drive for the GMF in Norfolk. Keep in mind, color is early in the NW corner of CT but I have no idea if the frost changed the foliage overnight. Norfolk is called the "icebox of CT" by the way. :D I am headed to the Quabbin Reservoir by backroads i...

Northwest Corner of Connecticut's hill towns foliage update 10/13

Hello to those of you seeking color south of Vermont. Well, we spent all afternoon up in a select area of NW CT and I must say that we are only now approaching early color in our hill towns. The color that is coming is strong, but a whole week later than normal at the very best! The towns we covered...
