Re: Foliage color appears on schedule in the north

The contractor who just delivered my windows saw my VT stickers on my car and we got into a "foliage" discussion as expected. He has a house in Ascutney and said the colors are up to a week early on his mountain and the area. He was a bit surprised seeing that the foliage was about 10 days late in h...

Re: Daily full screen panoramas of the color's progression

Hi Tim: thanks for your work on this, it's pretty cool! I'm sure everyone appreciates all you do to keep the forums going as well as your foliage-vermont and scenes of Vermont web pages. It will be interesting to see how the color plays out! The next couple of weeks are crucial at this point. Love t...

Re: Foliage color appears on schedule in the north

We are approaching a whole week of fine weather through Friday: bright sunshiny days, cool nights. Excellent ingredients for a great fall display! Lots of intermittent rainfalls so we are not in a drought at all with minimal leaf fungus and pest disease. Maples popping out here like crazy on the mou...

Re: Where Are The 30's Temperatures??

Hey Loafer! Thanks for the pic! Stowe had their first frost two nights ago (13th). Lookin' great! :D I'm staying up there for about 8 days so hoping to hit the color on target. How are things in your area? We are moving along nicely in north central CT! We are touring the NW corner today to see how ...

Re: Jobs Pond - My Favorite NEK Foliage Location

Hey Triz: Did you perhaps mean to say Equinox Pond is near the town of Manchester rather than Bennington? If not, I haven't been to any near Bennington. And I would like to find it. Nonetheless, your shot is one of the best I have seen. It usually peaks around Columbus Day. Last year with the...

Re: When to View the Full Harvest Moon in Vermont!

Oh my gosh Tim! Thank you for the correction! We saw it last night and it was amazing! It should remain full for just 2 more nights according to the website and it will not come as a full harvest moon in the month of September for another 30 years! I hope you got some nice images. I think I saw you ...

Re: Jobs Pond - My Favorite NEK Foliage Location

Tim : amazing shots! It was nice to see you there. I still have your magazine with your other winning images! It's nice to have a kayak to get views from the inside. Going on the Clyde River in a couple of weeks! Tim and Ed : I am torn between Long Pond and Jobs Pond. Both were at the top of my lis...

Re: Jobs Pond - My Favorite NEK Foliage Location

PS, I loved your visual and auditory capture of the scene as well. It created quite a "picture" indeed, especially with the call of the loon. That must have been quite the scene! A treat for the senses and a bonus to be surrounded by such an exquisite natural environment!

Re: Jobs Pond - My Favorite NEK Foliage Location

Simply outstanding Ed! I was there last year as well, we were awestruct! It just got better and better with every angle! Jobs Pond is probably one of the best, if not THE best, places to catch the most memorable Vermont foliasm you could ever ask for! By the way, these shots look excellent...

Re: When to View the Full Harvest Moon in Vermont!

Hey folks! Don't forget that the full harvest moon is Saturday the 14th! The NE is looking somewhat iffy but Sunday night looks good. One of my favorite harbingers of fall! Hope to see some pictures here if anyone is out watching it rise! :D :D :D

Tim: thanks for adding this. My favorites so far are the Waitsfield Farmer's Market (medium sized), the Dorset Farmer's Market (medium sized) and the Putney Farmer's Market (small). Everyone, please support our Vermont farmers and vendors as much as you possibly can. You will enjoy farmer's markets ...

Re: Newbie in search of Vermont foliage view

Hi Minh! Welcome to the foliage forum! You picked a great time to visit Vermont and Happy Anniversary! You are certainly headed in the right direction, Northeast Kingdom (aka NEK). Sometimes those maps are based on historical averages and as of now, we can't fully predict where to find "peak" foliag...
