Flooding

To all Vermont residents. I am so sorry to see all the coverage of the flooding and devastation in your beautiful state. It would be good to hear from some of you and to know how things are in your area. Hopefully the damage is limited and everyone is safe. The picture of the train track near Ludlow...

Re: Chandler Pond Farm

Thank you Carol and NEK, After I posted I got to thinking that I'm not just going there for the foliage anyway. I will definitely buy something while I'm there. Maybe some maple syrup or apples--yummy! Just has to be something consumable or small enough to fit in my luggage to fly back to Texas! No ...

Re: Chandler Pond Farm

Ok Abby tell me the truth, I can take it  My plan is to visit the Chandler Pond Farm on October 7th. Also Stannard Moutain Rd and then Jay Peak. From what I am hearing from all of you, season is a little early. Do you think I should skip this drive and plan something else? We are staying near ...

Re: PWT's first report

Thank you MMVT. I'm not sure I've ever seen peak in any part of Vermont in the five times we have been there. I am pretty satisfied just seeing the beauty of the state even earlier or later than peak.
I will check in here often and see what reports you guys have. This is an awesome place!

Re: PWT's first report

I am not going to stress but this is not good news for us.. :( We are staying Oct 7 and 8 near Lyndonville. Planned to drive Stannard Mountain Rd, Lake Willoughby and Jay Peak on the 7th and Burke Mountain on the 8th. I can't change my lodging. Should I change my plans and go south? Thank you all fo...

Re: FOLIAGE FEVER!!!

I have spent hours and hours planning our trip and mapping out our route. Four weeks and two days before we leave for the beautiful (and cool) states of Vermont and New Hampshire. It has been close to 100 degrees every day for the last few weeks. I am also super excited!

Railroad Depots

Does anyone know of any old railroad depots still standing in Vermont? We have ridden the Green Mountain Flyer from Bellows Falls and seen a depot in Randolph. I might can find some by googling but you guys are way better than Google!

Re: GREAT VERMONT DRIVING ROUTES

On Page 3 of this thread, "Mountain Rd(rt 108)Attractions from Stowe"Aspen talks about Brook Rd and a covered bridge. Can anyone tell me where that is? I can't find it in my atlas or in the Barna Covered Bridges book. Thanks.

Re: Driving Route near Calais

Charles--I am not a photographer like so many of you on this forum.. But I truly enjoy your pictures. Thank you for sharing them with us. It's pictures like yours that help me get my Vermont fix in the years we can't make it there. :) CT--Thanks for the advice. I remember the first year we went to V...

Re: Driving Route near Calais

Thank you Utah Baker and IXL for the beautiful pictures. :) Cabot Plains Road is for sure on my agenda. And I hope we can drive the Stannard Mt. Rd this year also.
I think I read somewhere about Cabot Rd from Cabot to Woodbury. Anybody have any info on that road?

Re: E. Hill Road Calais

Thanks ct and bm. I am finding several roads with the same name. I had already marked a route using the other E Hill Rd. Then when bm gave me the route that started out as Ducharme and ended up as Max Gray and I see E Hill Rd mixed in I was totally confused, especially since they are in the same are...

E. Hill Road Calais

Which East Hill Rd is the one y'all recommend? CT, I think its you that have it on the list for the "best see spots". Trouble is, I see it running from Rt 14 near South Woodbury--goes east--turns into Blodgett--and comes out on Rt 215 near Lower Cabot. The other one is Ducharme, Blachly, E. Hill, th...
