Re: Jobs Pond - My Favorite NEK Foliage Location

Stunning photos all, and thanks so much for sharing. May I add my thanks to Andy & Carol for their efforts in creating such a great resource, I love it! And to everywhere who shares their favorite spots. The ache in my heart is real, but keep the photos and good times coming. Thank you Janice. It m...

Re: Daily full screen panoramas of the color's progression

This will be great to follow Tim. Thanks so much for doing this. It's nice to see the very early color change at this point and it will be interesting to watch it progress.

Re: Growth as a Photographer

Thank you for the compliment Andy. I remember when I first started posting here and I was so proud of my photos. Ha ha. I have to admit I've come a long way since then and I owe a lot of that to you (and Al). I'm still learning and there's always so much more room for improvement, but the passion is...

Re: Jobs Pond - My Favorite NEK Foliage Location

Such a gorgeous place and stunning pictures! I haven't had the chance to visit Jobs pond yet, hopefully I can come back to VT next year when my daughter will be a bit older :) My wife and I were lucky enough to see other beautiful VT ponds in our last two trips (thanks to suggestions from you guys)...

Re: Jobs Pond - My Favorite NEK Foliage Location

I agree with you Ed. I'm glad that the e-book helped you to find this gem of a place. It's also a favorite of mine and never disappoints. Also, beautiful photos posted here by both you and NEK. I loved seeing them! I discovered a different vantage point a few years ago. As you are standing along the...

Re: Favorite picnic spot and outdoor eating

Hi "Mom", There are picnic tables at the Pageant Park area of Crystal Lake in Barton. Take Pageant Park Road off Rte 16E (Lake Willoughby Rd) and it is down on the right hand side. Don't go to the main Crystal Lake State Park entrance, as it is gated in the Fall and closed for the season. You can se...

Re: Route 114

On our last trip, Route 114 was amazing!! One of my best pics was taken on the right side of the road heading north with a horse and big rustic barn on the hillside. I'm wanting to take that route again but not wanting to go all the way to Island Pond. What would be my best bet to get from Route 11...

Re: Swamp Maples Turning

colors look dull, but its way early--saw some swamp maples around Sept 20th years ago, and they were amazing Wentworth, I can tell you these colors were not dull at all in person. I was shooting into the sun and the only thing I can think of is I shot this into the sun due to the time of day, so I ...

Re: Swamp Maples Turning

Sooooooo........I just went into my archives to see what date I shot these swamp maples last year. It was September 22nd and they were NOT as vibrant as they are this year. I'm not sure this really means anything, or is a predictor for early colors, as last September the temperatures here were very ...

Swamp Maples Turning

Photo taken TODAY of Swamp Maples turning near my home in SE MA. Colors are beautiful....colors not enhanced. It's not unusual for these swamp maples to turn this early, and it's not a predictor for an early Fall.....rather it's a very good sign of good things to come. https://CarolSmith.zenfolio.co...

Re: Fall foliage on Sep 20th weekend

Hi Loafer and triz. I agree about the forecast. It’s looking favorable for a “normal” timing of the foliage season. It’s going to be interesting to see how things play out.

Mr Bumps, it’s nice to “see” you. I’m going to try to hit up one or two of the breweries you mentioned. Thanks for the recommendations.

Re: Where To Go For the Best Vermont Brewery

Carol: I printed out the post reply and can't wait. Do we need reservations at the brewery if we go late afternoon and then will eat from the food truck.... bm: will hit Lawson's Finest in Waitsfield and will buy my Heady Topper there in town or in Warren on their delivery date! CT, they don’t take...
