East Burke

East Burke, a safe place for families and friends to visit
         and vacation in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom.

What keeps people coming back to East Burke? The most obvious reasons would be the natural beauty the area possesses and the friendliness of the people. However, if one looks closer it's easy to  see that this is a community full of life and activity.

Burke offers year round recreation and entertainment through Spring and Summertime fishing, swimming, or boating on Lake Willoughby or Crystal Lake.

Bring your mountain bike or rent one at the two local sports shops and enjoy the developed trail system around Burke Mountain.

In the summer, the mountains around Burke echo with the sounds of music from one of  many festivals and concerts presented at the Burke Mountain Resort.

In the fall, the mountains come to life with the most vibrant colors imaginable.  To celebrate this annual occurrence the Burke area hosts many events and activities. In mid-September the Burke Mountain presents the Kingdom Classic Mountain Bike Race and Okoberfest. On the last Saturday of September the village of East Burke host it's annual Fall Foliage Festival. This festival is complete with arts and crafts, music, and church suppers.

The area offers a whole list of activities to take part in; indoor and outdoor skating, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, sledding, and horse drawn sleigh rides. During the month of February, Burke in co-operation with nearby Lyndonville, hail Winter by holding a Snowflake Festival.

Hospitality abounds in the Burke areas 15 Inns and Bed and Breakfasts. These accommodations offer such amenities as saunas, tennis, gift shop, and swimming. The only problem in finding a place to dine is choosing from the areas many fine restaurants that offer top quality dining at reasonable prices.
